Skate Groups

Group A Skaters that compete. This group of skaters work extremely hard and are very dedicated to the sport. Do not interfere with their workout. NO ONE WILL BE PERMITTED ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE TRACK, OR ON THE TRACK WHILE THE "A" GROUP IS SKATING. This is for everyone's safety.
Group B Advanced skaters who are improving their basic skills. It is suggested that this group be attentive to the "A" group because the "B" group follows the "A" group on the track. Also, it benefits the "B" group to study the form, technique, etc., of the advanced skaters. This can lead to improving your own skills and speed through imitation.
Group C Beginners learning the basic skills of speedskating. This group works on the inside of the track while the others are performing their workouts. Body positioning, balance and arm swing are a few of the skills being taught. The "C" group is permitted on the track while the other groups are resting. Again, watch the more experienced skaters for tips on form, etc. The "A" group and "B" group may coach the "C" group by skating inside the track only.
